Child-to-parent violence is a soul-destroying thing.
In times of desperation you need a voice, someone to ring.
Instead you’re all alone, frustrated, hurt, in despair.
You have a child who is raging, who needs help to repair.
Things that are important, thrown, smashed to pieces,
No regard for anything, just doing as he pleases.
You’re taught about the baskets—focus on the small!
I’m trying really hard, but this weekend, I can’t do it all.
Today, feeling crap, I have to go to work, plaster on the face.
Today my child has woken calm. Me, just not the case!
I’m feeling like a failure, doing it all wrong.
I want my child feeling happy, connected, like he’ll belong.
How do we move forward? Regulate? Come down?
Be emotionally available? Remove the upset around?
Use the support group, breathe deeply. Find your tribe!
Don’t accept the emotional blackmail, demands or bribe!
Today is that new beginning, time to try again.
Forget all the yesterdays, give big hugs and have hope from the rainbow given from the rain.
